Audiences & Targeting
3 min read
Geotargeting delivers ads based on where someone is or where they usually are — country, region, city or a radius around a point. It is how a local business avoids paying to reach the whole country, and how global brands adapt one message to each market.
Determine location. IP, GPS or profile data places the user.
Set the boundaries. You define the areas that matter.
Serve accordingly. Ads show only inside those areas.
Tailor by place. Message and offer can shift per location.
Radius. A ring around a store or point.
Region. Countries, states or cities.
Location intent. People searching for a place, not just in it.
Exclusions. Cutting out areas you cannot serve.
Local relevance. It reaches people who can actually act.
Budget focus. No spend wasted outside your market.
Market adaptation. Message and offer suit each place.
Location accuracy. Signals can misplace a user.
Privacy. Precise location is sensitive data.
Intent vs presence. Being somewhere is not wanting something there.
Over-narrowing. Too tight a radius starves reach.
