Campaign Performance Audit
Analysis
Identify strongest and weakest campaigns, uncover wasted spend and get prioritised recommendations.

Overview
A campaign performance audit gives you a clear, ranked read on where your advertising budget is working hardest and where it is leaking. Instead of scanning dashboards account by account, you ask OpenAds to pull performance across every connected platform, normalise the numbers into comparable terms, and surface the strongest and weakest campaigns side by side. The AI does the heavy analysis — spotting underperformers, flagging wasted spend and quantifying the opportunity — while you stay in control of any change that touches a live account.
The outcome is a prioritised action list: a short set of recommendations ranked by impact, each backed by the metrics that justify it. You walk away knowing which campaigns to scale, which to fix, which to pause, and roughly how much budget you can redirect. Nothing is executed automatically — the audit produces analysis and proposals, and you approve what actually happens.
When to use it
Run an audit whenever you need a fast, evidence-based view of account health rather than a single-campaign check. It is most valuable at these moments:
At the start of a monthly or quarterly review cycle.
When spend has risen but results have not kept pace.
Before reallocating budget across campaigns or platforms.
After onboarding a new account you have not analysed before.
When a stakeholder asks "where is our money going?" and you need a defensible answer.
Example prompts
"Audit all my Google Ads campaigns for the last 30 days and rank them by ROAS."
"Which campaigns spent more than ₹50,000 last month but drove fewer than 10 conversions?"
"Show me the weakest five campaigns across all accounts and explain why each is underperforming."
"Find wasted spend — keywords and search terms costing money with no conversions."
"Compare this quarter's performance to last quarter and highlight what declined."
"Give me a prioritised list of fixes that could save at least ₹1,00,000 a month."
"Which campaigns should I scale, and how much extra budget could each absorb?"
What OpenAds prepares vs what you approve
OpenAds handles the analysis and the proposal: it gathers the data, ranks performance, identifies wasted spend and drafts concrete recommended changes with the reasoning behind each. What it does not do is act on your accounts unprompted. Every change that would alter a live campaign — pausing a campaign, shifting a budget, adding negative keywords, adjusting a bid — is held as a proposal for your approval. Only after you approve does OpenAds move to execution. This separation of analysis, proposal, approval and execution means you get the speed of AI-driven auditing without ceding control of spend.

Common pitfalls & best practices
Judge on outcomes, not clicks. Rank against conversions, ROAS or CPA — cheap clicks that never convert are the definition of wasted spend.
Use a fair date range. Very short windows exaggerate noise; align the range to your sales cycle so trends are real, not seasonal blips.
Do not pause on a single bad week. Confirm underperformance is sustained before proposing a pause, especially for campaigns still in a learning phase.
Reinvest, do not just cut. Redirect recovered budget into proven winners rather than leaving it idle.
Always review before approving. Read the reasoning behind each proposed change so you understand what will happen on the account before you sign off.
The workflow, step by step
Set the scope. Tell OpenAds which accounts, platforms and date range to audit, and confirm your primary objective (ROAS, CPA, conversions or leads) so comparisons use the right yardstick.
Pull the data. OpenAds retrieves campaign, ad group and keyword-level metrics across every connected platform through the MCP connection, so you are working from one consolidated dataset.
Normalise and rank. The AI aligns metrics into comparable terms and ranks campaigns from strongest to weakest against your chosen objective.
Isolate wasted spend. It flags spend that produced few or no conversions — high-cost, low-return keywords, converting-free ad groups and irrelevant search terms.
Explain the drivers. For each outlier, OpenAds explains the likely cause, whether that is bidding, targeting, creative fatigue or budget starvation.
Prioritise recommendations. Findings are ranked by estimated impact so you tackle the highest-value fixes first, with the potential budget saving quantified.
Review the proposals. OpenAds drafts specific proposed changes — pauses, budget shifts, negative keywords — and holds them for your approval.
Approve and execute. You approve the changes you want; only then does OpenAds carry them out on the live accounts.
