Campaign Creation Strategy
Strategy
Convert business objectives into platforms, audiences, formats and measurement plans.

Overview
This workflow turns a business objective — more qualified leads, higher return on ad spend, a product launch, or entry into a new market — into a concrete, executable campaign plan. It walks the AI assistant through translating that objective into the right platform mix, audience definitions, ad formats, budget allocation and a measurement plan, so that nothing is created on instinct alone. Every recommendation is grounded in account history, keyword and audience research, and the constraints you set up front.
The outcome is a fully specified campaign proposal you can read in minutes: which platforms to run on and why, the audiences and geographies to target, the formats and creative slots to fill, a budget split with a daily cap, and the exact metrics that will tell you whether it worked. OpenAds assembles this proposal but holds the build for your approval, so you move from a vague goal to a launch-ready structure without surrendering control of what actually goes live.
When to use it
Reach for this workflow whenever you are starting something new rather than adjusting something that already runs. It is designed for the moment between "we have a goal and a budget" and "the campaign is live".
Launching a new product, service or landing page that needs its own campaign.
Entering a new market, region or language where you have no existing structure.
Reallocating a fresh quarterly or monthly budget across platforms and objectives.
Testing a new format or channel alongside your proven campaigns.
Rebuilding an underperforming campaign from a clean, objective-led foundation.
Example prompts
"Build me a lead-generation campaign for our B2B software with a monthly budget of ₹4,00,000 and a target cost per lead of ₹800."
"We are launching a new skincare line in India. Propose a platform mix and audiences for a ₹6,50,000 first-month budget."
"Plan a Performance Max campaign for our online store with ₹2,50,000 per month and a return-on-ad-spend goal of 4x."
"Enter the Bangalore and Hyderabad markets for our fitness app; draft geo-targeted campaigns within a ₹1,20,000 budget."
"Create a search campaign around high-intent keywords for tax filing, capped at ₹5,000 per day."
"Propose a video and search combination to promote our webinar, total budget ₹90,000, optimising for registrations."
"Rebuild our underperforming brand campaign from scratch with a ₹3,00,000 monthly budget and a cost-per-click ceiling of ₹35."
What OpenAds prepares vs what you approve
OpenAds handles the analysis — reading account history, researching keywords and audiences, and sizing the opportunity — and turns it into a proposal: a written plan of platforms, audiences, formats, budget splits and measurement criteria. That proposal is where its autonomy stops. Nothing is created, no budget is committed and no campaign goes live until you give approval. Only after you approve does OpenAds move to execution, building exactly the structure you signed off on in the ad platform. This separation means you always see the reasoning and the full plan before a single rupee is spent, and you remain the person who decides what launches.

Common pitfalls & best practices
Do not start without a numeric target; "more sales" cannot be optimised, but a target cost per acquisition can.
Avoid spreading a small budget across too many platforms — concentrate spend where the objective is most achievable first.
Define negative keywords and audience exclusions at launch, not after wasted spend reveals them.
Set conversion tracking and the measurement plan before going live, so early data is trustworthy.
Give the campaign a defined learning window and resist restructuring it before the bidding strategy has stabilised.
The workflow, step by step
State the objective and constraints. Tell the assistant the business goal, target cost per result, total budget and any hard limits such as excluded regions or minimum daily spend, so every later decision is anchored to a measurable outcome.
Review account and market context. OpenAds pulls existing account structure, historical performance and competitive signals, then runs keyword and audience research to ground the plan in real demand rather than assumptions.
Select the platform mix. Based on where your audience is active and what each channel does well, the assistant proposes which platforms to run on and how the objective maps to campaign types on each.
Define audiences and geographies. Intent keywords, custom and lookalike audiences, exclusions and location or language targeting are drafted so reach is neither too broad to be wasteful nor too narrow to deliver.
Choose formats and creative slots. The plan specifies ad formats — responsive search, Performance Max, shopping, video — and lists the headlines, descriptions and assets each will need.
Allocate budget and bidding. Spend is split across platforms and campaigns with a daily cap and a bidding strategy matched to the objective, with a note on how it should ramp during the learning period.
Set the measurement plan. Primary and secondary metrics, conversion actions and a review cadence are defined before launch, so success is judged against criteria agreed in advance.
Review, approve, execute. You read the full proposal, adjust anything, and approve. Only then does OpenAds build the campaigns in the ad platform.
