Creative & Campaign Content
3 min read
Creative rotation is the practice of cycling several ad variations through the same placements — either evenly or weighted toward winners — instead of running one creative until it dies. It keeps campaigns fresh, fights fatigue and feeds the data that testing needs.
Load several creatives. Multiple variations share the same placement.
Choose a rotation rule. Serve evenly, or favour the strong performers.
Serve and measure. The system tracks how each variation does.
Refresh the pool. Tired creatives retire; new ones enter.
Even rotation. Each creative gets equal exposure to test fairly.
Optimised rotation. Winners get more of the impressions.
Sequential. A planned order that tells a story.
Scheduled. Creatives tied to times or events.
It fights fatigue. Variety keeps audiences from tiring.
It feeds testing. Rotation is how variations earn comparable data.
It sustains performance. Fresh creative holds engagement up.
Even vs optimised. Optimising too early can starve a slow winner.
Enough volume. Each creative needs impressions to judge fairly.
Management overhead. More creatives mean more to maintain.
Brand consistency. Variety must still feel like one brand.
