Ad verification is the set of checks that confirm an ad actually ran as intended — seen by a real person, in a brand-safe place, in the right geography and free of fraud. It is the quality-control layer that protects budgets from being wasted on impressions that never truly counted.
Tag the impression. Verification code rides along with the ad.
Check the conditions. It measures viewability, placement and validity.
Flag the failures. Non-viewable, unsafe or fraudulent impressions are caught.
Report and act. Findings feed blocking and optimisation.
Viewability. Whether the ad was actually in view.
Brand safety. Whether it ran beside appropriate content.
Fraud. Whether the traffic was human and valid.
Geo compliance. Whether it served where intended.
Protects spend. It stops paying for impressions that did not count.
Guards the brand. It keeps ads away from harmful content.
Cleaner data. It improves the accuracy of performance metrics.
Measurement gaps. Not every environment can be verified.
Overhead. Verification tags add weight and cost.
False flags. Legitimate impressions can be wrongly caught.
Walled gardens. Some platforms limit outside verification.
